Staying in Touch

Who? What? How?

Tips and Tricks for Staying in Touch at ISL

It is very important to sign up for the ISL academic portals – Engage and ManageBac – as soon as you are provided the log-on information from the front office. These portals will allow you to receive important updates, see your child’s progress, and register for parent-teacher conferences. They are essential communication tools at ISL. If you don’t have your log-in details, please contact the front office.

The PTA emails parents directly with announcements and further information about upcoming special events, tours, activities and more. To make sure that you receive these emails, please reach out to confirm your email address to our coordinator at [email protected].

You are invited to join the ISL Families Facebook page, which is only accessible to current ISL members. Here you will find news and announcements about current events, information on how to join parent activities, community announcements and questions, and local recommendations of all kinds (doctors, dentists, plumbers, real estate and more). Answer the security questions to join, or email us at [email protected] with requests.

Parent Reps: Your Key to the Classroom

Fostering Connectedness

Our Parent Reps serve as a critical point of contact for families and act as a bridge between home and the classroom. In Primary, each class has a Parent Rep. In Secondary, each homeroom has a Parent Rep.

Parent Reps are volunteers who work hand-in-hand with teachers and the PTA. Parents Reps communicate timely grade-specific information to parents. In addition, they can organize fun activities and treats. Parent Reps for younger grades also work with the teacher to plan class parties, enlist classroom volunteers and carry out teacher initiatives.

Class WhatsApp Groups

Building Community and Keeping You Informed

A great way to keep in touch with day-to-day classroom happenings, WhatsApp groups are created specifically for each grade/class.

Each group is administered by a Parent Rep who distributes timely updates and reminders about class activities.

Here, parents can also ask and find answers to class-specific questions and source answers to grade-level queries. To join, please contact your classroom teacher for the QR code and link.
