Following their inspiring visit to the Art Biennale of Lyon, Grade 5 and Grade 6 students returned to school to create stunning moonlit seaside scenes influenced by Jean-Christophe Norman’s work.
In Grade 5, students explored their Unit of Inquiry (UOI) about Space (Where We Are in Place and Time), examining how artists depict physical and conceptual dimensions, while Grade 6 students analyzed contemporary painting techniques, uncovering how artists convey personal, social, and conceptual ideas. Their trip included engaging with exhibits focused on artistic interpretations of space and participating in discussions that connected their experiences back to their UOI.
Through practical art lessons, the students showcased their creativity and collaboration, successfully integrating art into the curriculum. We thank all families for their continued support in enriching our students’ educational experiences as we foster a love for learning and creativity.
