On Thursday, October 17th, during the “Semaine du Goût,” a French event that promotes tasting food and encourages balance, courage, and open-mindedness, some parents from Grades 3, 4, and 3/4 volunteered. They responded to an invitation to prepare a signature dish from their culture and to present it, allowing all Grade 3 and 4 students (and the French teachers, too!) to taste these unique flavors.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the variety of dishes—sweet or savory, spicy or mild—and, while it took some courage from a few of them to try new flavors or handle the spiciness, their appetite was impressive overall!
We tasted seven dishes from India, China, Italy, France, Japan, and Denmark.
Thanks to all the participants—it was delicious!
