New ISL Staff for 2024-2025

We are excited to introduce two new dedicated professionals to our ISL community, each bringing a wealth of experience and passion for education: Nikita Hošnová and Torie Dugat.

Nikita Hošnová (Learning Support Assistant) – Nikita is originally from Prague, Czech Republic, where she earned her degree in Social Work and Social Pedagogy from Charles University. During her time there, she gained experience working as both a kindergarten teacher and a teaching assistant. Following her graduation, she participated in the Erasmus postgraduate program working as an English teaching assistant in a lycée and primary school in Nantes. Since then she relocated to Lyon and joined the ISL team as an assistant to the upper primary school teachers. Nikita values an international environment and enjoys activities that encourage experimentation.

Torie Dugat (SENCo) – Torie has joined the ISL team as our Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Collaborative Education from Troy University and later a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from the University of Hawaii. With more than 10 years of experience in the field of special education, she has worked in a variety of educational settings, including public and private schools, as well as mainstream and special schools. She has supported students ranging in age from 3 to 35+ with a variety of physical and/or intellectual needs, from mild to severe and profound, in both the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

Torie grew up in North Carolina but has since lived in a number of different states and countries. She enjoys a variety of hobbies and interests, including traveling, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. She looks forward to further exploring France and Europe, and settling into the French way of life.

We are thrilled to welcome Nikita and Torie to the ISL community and look forward to the valuable contributions they will bring to our team and students during the coming year.
