Grade 11 Geography/History students travelled to Spain for the trip which also included CAS activities, organized by Mr. Dunn and accompanied by Mrs. Mannion.
The group flew to Madrid and visited Madrid from the Bernabeu stadium to the historic centre. We then visited the half a million to a million year old limestone caves of Aguila before arriving at the Gredos centre itself.
For CAS volunteer service, there was a local litter clean up in the national park local area and some ephemeral art CAS creativity. Fieldwork data for Geography on footpath erosion and the impact of tourism was collected in 2 nearby villages and in the High Sierra mountains at the Plataforma de Gredos. We said hello to the Ibex!
Another CAS activity was horse riding in Hoyos del Espino and archery as another CAS activity. Finally, a day on the history trail in Salamanca two hours away. The weather was superb and a great time was had by all. Thanks to everyone for making the trip so memorable. You are all a credit to ISL.
