As part of our unit of inquiry (How We Organise Ourselves), which focuses on the clothing we wear, the Grade 1 students participated in a sewing project, each making a personalized pair of shorts. The students had the opportunity to select their preferred fabric, adhere it to the pattern, and then cut out their patterns. They then sewed their fabric together and added elastic around their waist.
They worked really hard on their projects and were very excited to try on their creations. Each and every one of the pairs of shorts was unique and made with special care, thanks to our amazing parent volunteers! A big shout out to Sam, who organized this project, and to Susanne, Hyowon, Marjolaine, Kari, and Jiin Jung, who were there to support and help the Grade 1s in every step of the making!
