Every year in October, “la semaine du goût” is celebrated across France. In ISL, the French department always tries to find a way to celebrate it, and this year was no exception. This year’s theme was how our 5 senses are engaged during the eating experience. To demonstrate this, we challenged students (and staff!) to guess flavours of various coloured jellies. Without the “right” colour and texture of the food, it was very challenging to recognise flavours. Primary students tried the experiment with yogurts to test their sense of smell while trying to identify herbs and spices. It was great fun for all and produced some very interesting reactions!
