The Grade 11 IB Physics class have been finding out how good their expensive trainers really are, by measuring the coefficient of friction on dry and wet surfaces. The shoe below performed pretty well for both static and dynamic (sliding) friction on a ceramic surface, but the owner won’t let us test it in the mud – I don’t remember my trainers ever staying this clean for long when I was a teenager!
